The Seattle Kraken will be without the services of forward Andre Burakovsky for a period of six to eight weeks.

The 32nd team in the National League announced this on Monday. The 28-year-old ice hockey player suffered an upper body injury and underwent successful surgery. He was injured during Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers.
The winger has collected two assists in six games so far in 2023-2024.
Burakovsky joined the Kraken via the free agent market in the summer of 2022. He signed a five-year contract that will allow him to receive $5.5 million annually. He previously played for the Washington Capitals and the Colorado Avalanche.
The Austrian native collected 39 points, including 13 goals, in 49 games last year. He missed much of the regular season and playoffs due to a torn groin and a setback in his recovery.
