Harrison Ford dons the iconic fedora in the trailer for the long-awaited Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny

Harrison Ford reprized his much-loved role as Indiana Jones in the newly released trailer for the upcoming movie Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Fortune, which aired during Sunday’s Super Bowl.

In the clip, the 80-year-old actor portrayed the adventurer who, with the help of his goddaughter Helena Shaw, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, set out to stop an evil scientist.

The actor, who recently opened up about his collaboration with Helen Mirren, will star in the adventure flick alongside fellow cast members Mads Mikkelsen and Boyd Holbrook.

The trailer begins with Jones meeting Jürgen Voller and his henchman Klaber, and the former inquiring if the scientist is “still a Nazi”.

After an aging Jones hits an attacker while riding on a train, he hops onto a horse and rides through a parade while being pursued by Voller’s right hand.

The adventurer later reunites with his longtime friend Sallah, played by John Rhys-Davies, who encourages him to “bring the hell out of them”.

The professor eventually finds his way onto a plane, where he is joined by Shaw, who snuck onto the plane to save it from a group of assailants.

The trailer ends after Jones and his goddaughter jump out of the plane and head towards the sea.

Development of the fifth Indiana Jones feature film spanned several decades, although it was confirmed that the project was not in production until 2016.

At the time, Steven Spielberg was set to direct the soon-to-be-premiered feature, with George Lucas serving as one of the producers.

However, the industry legend stepped down from his role in 2020, though he stayed on as a producer.

James Mangold, who previously worked with Ford on Call of the Wild, later took over as director.

The filmmaker co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Jez and John-Henry Butterworth.

While Ford has always been involved with the project, several cast members including Waller-Bridge, Mikkelsen and Holbrook have committed to appearing in the film in 2021.

Shia LaBeouf, who portrayed Jones’ son Mutt Williams in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, will not reprise his role in the new film.

Filming began in the summer of 2021 and took place at various locations in the UK, Italy and Morocco before filming wrapped last February.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was originally scheduled to hit theaters in 2019, although the premiere date has been pushed back several times.

The long-awaited film is currently set to debut on June 30th.

Ford previously confirmed he would be leaving the role of Jones after the film’s release, although Disney executives are currently considering a television series centered on the character.
