Shocking bodycam footage captured the moment three Connecticut police officers raided a hotel room and shot a suspected gunman in front of screaming children.
Suspected shooter Christopher Nolan, 42, was shot dead in the hotel room after allegedly shooting at someone from the window of a separate nearby hotel.
Police were initially called to reports of shots fired at the America’s Best Value Inn in New London, Connecticut, around 1:50 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses claimed Nolan burst into a room and shot someone out the window before fleeing the scene.
Police then learned that Nolan had fled to the nearby Clarion Inn Hotel, where during a room search they found Nolan on the second floor in a room with several children in it.
Shocking police bodycam footage showed the moment three officers entered a hotel room and found a suspected shooter surrounded by several children trying to “escape.”
There were several frightened witnesses, including children, in the room at the time of the shooting. A child’s legs could be seen on a bed to the left when police entered the room
After Nolan suffered multiple gunshot wounds, bodycam footage showed officers discovering a revolver in the corner of a window sill next to Nolan
According to the Office of the Inspector General (IG), which is investigating the police shooting, another person allowed them entry when officers knocked on the room.
Nolan was found pressed against a window in an “apparent attempt to escape,” an IG report said.
Frantic bodycam footage shows the moment officers say they realized Nolan was still holding a gun, and when he turned toward the officers, they opened fire.
The IG said the officers involved in the shooting were identified as Joseph Nott, Annie Agnew and Seth Bolduc.
The footage also shows several children who witnessed the shooting, some of them sitting on beds and reacting in horror as police burst into the room.

Nolan suffered multiple gunshot wounds and received medical treatment at the scene. The moments after the shooting revealed that officers also found a gun.
Surrounded by bullet holes in the room’s window, a revolver can be seen in the bodycam footage on the corner of a window sill near where Nolan allegedly tried to escape.
He was hospitalized and transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, where he was in good condition as of Wednesday, according to NBC Connecticut.
