Prince Harry explained this Friday that the illness of his father, King Charles III, who was diagnosed with cancer, could help reunite the British royal family.

Harry is in Canada with his wife, actress Meghan Markle, for a year of training ahead of the Invictus Games, an event he is organizing for wounded military veterans.
Due to the dispute with the royal family, Harry stepped down from his official duties in 2020 and moved to California, where he lives with his wife and two young children. From then on, both sharply criticized the British monarchy in interviews and in a documentary series on Netflix.
“I have more trips planned that would take me to the United Kingdom, so I will see my family as often as possible,” he said in an interview with ABC this Friday.
He also stated that he has considered applying for U.S. citizenship, although it is not currently one of his priorities. Charles' diagnosis came 17 months into his reigninitiated following the death of his 96-year-old mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.

In his message to the public, Charles III said it was “equally hopeful” to hear how concern about the disease had grown since he disclosed his condition.
The note was posted on the king's website and the royal family's official profile on the social network X. It praised organizations that support cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world.
