Harry and Meghan fail to break the list of Netflix’s top 10 shows in the US

A $100 million flop? Harry and Meghan fail to make a list of Netflix’s top 10 shows in the US, but Love Island, Too Hot to Handle and The Crown all do

  • The new Adams Family series with Catherine Zeta Jones is the most watched in the USA on Wednesday
  • After that comes Firefly Lane and Too Hot To Handle – a reality show that pays promiscuous young contestants to abstain from sex
  • The Crown this morning was the tenth most watched a month after its release
  • The Harry and Meghan documentaries are now buried under the New Releases section
  • Netflix reportedly paid the couple $100 million for a multi-show deal
  • The reviews of the first three episodes were scathing in the UK and US

The $100 million Harry and Meghan Netflix docuseries failed to break the list of the top 10 shows in the US.

In fact, the couple’s docuseries – which was widely promoted on the Netflix landing page yesterday after the release of the first three episodes – is now buried under the new releases section.

The first three episodes aired yesterday and renewed the couple’s fight against the royal family.

But while the pair make a series of snide remarks against Harry’s family and reiterate their complaints about racism towards Meghan and bullying by the British press, the first three episodes contain fewer bombshells than expected.

Netflix hasn’t released numbers on how many docuseries have tuned in yet.

This week’s top viewing in the US is Wednesday, the new series on The Adams Family, followed by Firefly Lane and Too Hot To Handle – a reality show that challenges promiscuous young contestants with abstinence for a cash prize.

Love Island currently ranks higher than the docuseries and The Crown – the popular series about the royal family – remains in the top 10 a month after the release of its fifth series.

Netflix reportedly paid Harry and Meghan $100 million in a deal to produce multiple shows and series.

But a year after they formed this partnership, the streaming giant canceled Meghan’s planned elephant series Pearl.

The six-episode docuseries now seems to be what the whole deal rests on.

Netflix hasn’t released viewership numbers for the first three episodes of the series yet.

The series didn’t make big bombshells, but it was a look at the couple’s early romance in 2016.

Harry complained about his family’s “unconscious bias” and said he had to officially leave the family to “protect” his own.

There were scenes where the couple was filmed in a car.
