In an interview aired on CBS Sunday to promote “Spare,” Harry’s princely memoir, Andrew Cooper didn’t hesitate to ask why the couple continue to use the royal titles Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which they received from Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding anniversary in 2018.
Both Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped down from their leading royal roles in January 2020 and relocated to California, then signed a deal with Netflix and gave an explosive interview to Oprah Winfrey months later.
“Why don’t you give up your titles as Duke and Duchess?asked Cooper.
Harry, 38, replied: “And what difference would that make?
He also asked her how she justified sharing family secrets.
“One of the criticisms he’s received is why be so public? Why would you reveal conversations you had with your father or brother?” Copper asked.
“Every time I’ve tried privately there have been leaks and stories against me and my wife. The family motto is ‘Never complain, never explain,'” Harry said. “But it’s just a motto. And it really doesn’t last.”
Harry has declared that he and Meghan will never return to the UK and become active members of the royal family after denying rumors that the couple is giving up their official titles.
He also called Queen consort Camilla “villain” and “dangerous” for marrying her father.
Prince Harry also quoted the saying in his television interview for British broadcaster ITV when it came to relations with his family.

Speaking to journalist Tom Bradby, she said: “We have been here for six years and I have spent each of those six years privately doing everything I can to communicate with my family. And the saddest part is that it never had to be this way.

“There was never a need to get to that point,” he said. “I’ve had conversations, I’ve written letters, I’ve written emails, and it’s all just ‘you’re making it up’.” And that’s really hard to accept.”
In the television interview for 60 Minutes, the Duke said his grandmother, the late Queen, was not angry or upset with him for wanting to step down as King.
Harry said the monarch “knows how difficult” it was for him but was saddened by how things were turning out.
Good Morning America host Michael Strahan asked the Duke, “Has she ever expressed that she’s mad at you?”
Harry replied, “Why?”
Strahan replied: “For wanting to change your role.”
“No. My grandmother and I had a very good relationship. It came as no surprise to anyone, least of all her,” he said. “She knew what was going on. She knew how difficult it was. She never told me she was angry. I think he was sad because it had come to this.”

In Spare, the Duke of Sussex also reveals that William physically assaulted him after his argument over Meghan; that he killed 25 Taliban as a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan; and that he was using cocaine by the age of 17.
Harry described a series of conversations he had with his father in which Carlos expressed negative feelings towards Meghan.
And he accused his father of worrying the Hollywood actress would “direct” him and expressed concern he would have to support her financially.
He confirmed that the current king had warned him that “there was no money” to support his wife. But the prince felt that Carlos’s concern was jealousy.
Harry revealed that both he and his brother William asked their father not to marry Camila; that Carlos didn’t even hug him when he told him about his mother’s death, and that it was William and Kate who encouraged him to wear a Nazi costume to a party in 2005.
It is not known if Harry and Meghan will attend Charles II’s coronation on May 6th.
Other statements in the autobiography provide details about the reason for the feud between Meghan and Kate.
So far, the royal family has remained silent about Harry’s strong statements.
