Harry and Meghans behavior has devastated Queen

Harry and Meghan’s behavior has devastated Queen

Queen Elizabeth II felt “devastated,” “confused” and “disappointed” by the behavior of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, royal insiders have claimed.

Harry and Meghan appeared in an interview with US TV presenter Oprah Winfrey in March last year while the late Queen’s husband was in hospital. Elizabeth was also suffering from health problems at the time.

A royal insider, quoted in Gyles Brandreth’s biography of Elizabeth II, said: “The late Queen was not only aware that the Duke’s health was poor, but her own as well. That made dealing with the Sussexes’ behavior doubly difficult. The timing couldn’t have been more insensitive.”

In response to Harry and Meghan’s claims about the royal family, the late monarch said in a statement “some memories may vary,” stressing that the Sussexes remained “very beloved members of the family.”

But according to palace insiders quoted by The Telegraph, the late Queen was “devastated”, “confused” and “disappointed”.

Some are said to have said Elizabeth was growing more incredulous at the damage the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to do to the royal family.

The reports come as the couple prepares to address their rift with the royal family head-on and in their own words. Netflix this week released one minute of footage from the documentary Harry & Meghan.

The footage includes photos and interview snippets of Harry and Meghan. The Duke says in the clip, as a photo of Meghan crying is shown: “No one sees what happens behind closed doors.”

Then there is the sound of breaking glass and a picture of William and Kate appears.

Meghan says at the end of the trailer, “When the stakes are so high, there’s no longer any point in hearing the story from us.”
