Harry angry after Queen’s Jubilee: shunned by William and Kate, no private interview

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, here’s the background specific to Prince Harry. In fact, one royal expert believes the prince is “absolutely furious” at the treatment he received during the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. The Sussexes attended the anniversary event publicly: the Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s. They were seated in the second row and across from Kate and Prince William, with the couples not appearing to recognize each other or at least exchanging contacts out of courtesy.

Harry’s anger and doubt

Ahead of the Queen’s 70th anniversary service, Harry was seen laughing at some jokes and chatting to family and friends while seated next to his wife. But Angela Levin, who wrote the Duke of Sussex’s biography, told The Sun: “What really struck me that day was Harry’s anger: his emotions were visible and he seemed absolutely furious. Maybe he had negative feelings, I don’t know if he had any concerns about the past and the split from the royals and what he had given up. A self-destructive feeling that might make him regret what he had lost. Maybe he had bad memories and maybe he would have preferred not to have been at the ceremony.”
The Sussexes were also shunned for appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, with the Queen only having William alongside Kate.

Harry and Meghan also wanted their photographer to capture the moment the Queen first met their daughter in Windsor, but were told there would be “no chance” as it was a private moment. The official photographer was not approved but her friend and regular photographer Misan Harriman took Lilibet’s picture at Frogmore Cottage to celebrate her first birthday last Saturday. Harry and Meghan did not spend any private time with Prince William, Kate, George, Charlotte and Louis during the anniversary and it is unlikely that William’s family ever met Lilibet. A source said the brothers’ relationship was “strained” following Sussex’s “bombing” of the royal family, Oprah and podcasts released in the United States.
The fact remains that William and Harry did not meet privately during the four-day celebration; Harry, who quickly returned to California, hasn’t come up with countermeasures to smooth things over with his brother William.
