The social network TikTok shows a deleted scene from “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” in which Severus Snape berates students. But the sequence is interesting in many ways.
Check out this relatively forgotten scene from the Harry Potter saga excised from the Goblet of Fire where Hogwarts students are bullied by Snape and an interesting discussion takes place between two characters.
Although it caused a stir on TikTok, the video got truncated there. Here is the complete cutscene in good quality:
We see Harry coming out of the Bizarr’ Sisters concert (also cut during editing) and crossing paths with wizards kissing. But the interest of the scene lies elsewhere, as Harry overhears a conversation between Igor Karkaroff and Severus Snape.
The director of the Durmstrang School challenges his interlocutor: “It’s starting again as before. To which Snape replies, “I already told you Igor, I see no point in talking about it.”

The Hogwarts professor takes the opportunity to surprise students kissing in a carriage, drives them away with his wand and deducts points from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. We can’t get over it… But Igor comes back to the accusation:
“Would you mind rolling up your sleeve, you’re not cheating on me, Severus. And Snape replies laconically: “I have no reason to be afraid, Igor. But you?” And the scene ends, not without showing that Mad Eye Moody witnessed the whole scene.
The Debriefing (Spoilers)
Warner Bros. Moody
This punch line from Snape reflects the fact that Karkaroff was a Death Eater who once confessed the names of his comrades to the authorities in order to escape from prison. Snape is therefore implying that if Voldemort is indeed back, he might want revenge on Igor for betraying him.
The mention of Snape’s sleeve refers, of course, to the markings on the Death Eaters’ arms, which have become more vivid since the return of He Who Must Not Be Named.
At the time of the scene, Mad-Eye Moody is actually hiding Barty Crouch Jr., himself a Death Eater.
