The documentary shows scenes from the professional and private life of David Holmes, Backstage from the film saga and exclusive interviews with David, Daniel Radcliffe, friends, family and crew members.

The official synopsis reads: “The film tells the coming-of-age story of David Holmes, a gymnastics prodigy from Essex who was chosen to play Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double in the first Harry Potter film when Daniel was just 11 years old .” Over the next ten years, the two formed an unbreakable bond, but in the penultimate film in the series, a tragic accident left David paralyzed, turning his existence completely upside down. As Daniel and his colleagues supported David and his family during this difficult time, they recognized that his extraordinary resilience was their greatest source of courage and inspiration.”

In his podcast, Daniel Radcliffe comments on the “myth” of stuntmen: “There’s the idea that they’re some kind of superheroes. When viewers see something painful or terrible on screen, they think it’s a special effect or that there’s a trick to making it happen safely. However, this is often not the case. For example, you can’t pretend to fall down the stairs. If a car hits you, it’s still a car, even if it’s going much slower than normal. The stuntmen find the safest way to do it, but it could still be dangerous.
