Havana, December 4th (RHC) The International Handicraft Fair ‘Fiart 2022’ returns to Havana’s cultural scene from December 10th to 20th in two locations: Pabexpo and Linea Cultural Station, from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00.
The event, organized by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Heritage (FCBC), will have among its main attractions the work of designers from the largest island in the Antilles, as well as the productions of exhibitors from nine countries, spread over almost 300 exhibition spaces.
“The twenty-fourth edition of the meeting dedicated to recycling in crafts will bring the public closer to the pieces of well-known artists such as Ángel Ferrer, Jesús Frías (Chuchi), the Fresco project and others,” reported FCBC Deputy Director Marta Ivis Sanchez.
He emphasized that “Fiart 2022” will be an aesthetic compass for the country, with innovative garments and adapted to the island’s weather conditions.
Sánchez added that another novelty of the event will be the articulation of a full rehearsal of Telarte, an FCBC initiative that stopped doing a few years ago and is recovering.
He recalled that this unique experience encourages the use of plastic art in textile prints, extending their existence beyond galleries and museums while being part of everyday objects of great aesthetic value.
As the most important commercial exhibition center of its kind in Cuba and the Caribbean, “Fiart 2022” will host productions from Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain, India, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Russia, as well as from all Cuban provinces. institutions and the non-governmental sector.
