Havana is guest of honor at the 46th edition of the International Book Fair in Buenos Aires, Argentina, one of the largest literary events in Latin America.
The La Rural showroom in the Argentine capital hosts this space after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19.
The event, organized by the El Libro Foundation, will see the participation of exhibitors from more than 40 countries and will include numerous cultural activities, Prensa Latina reported.
Representations of literature, cinema, music and handicrafts come from Cuba to decorate the event. The fair lasts almost three weeks and the organizers expect that it will be attended by more than a million readers and 12,000 professionals.
The Cuban delegation is made up of Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso, President of the Casa de las Américas Abel Prieto, playwright Antonio Rodríguez, Argentine writer Basilia Papastamatíu, essayist and researcher Enrique Ubieta, and poets Víctor Casaus and Nancy Morejón, among others.
The fair, which was held for the first time in 1975, is considered one of the most important gatherings of its kind in this country and the world.
In addition to days dedicated to the exchange and training of professionals in the sector, it includes conferences, book launches, courses, lectures, poetry festivals, dialogues between storytellers and a microfiction day, among others.
