Hayden Hurst moved to Bengals after leaving Falcons for NFL Free Agency 2022

The Cincinnati Bengals found a tight end.

After losing C.J. Uzoma and Tyler Conklin to join the New York Jets, the Bengals are getting one of the tightest ends available in Hayden Hurst. His agency announced this on Twitter.. The terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

Hurst is now entering his fifth season in the NFL, having spent his last two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. This followed a two-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens, making Hurst the 25th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Hurst appeared in 13 games (five starts) last season, throwing 26 passes (31 goals) for 221 yards (8.5 average) and scoring three goals. He received Pro Football Focus scores of 66.4 in 2018, 74.1 in 2019, 58.9 in 2020 and 55.3 last season.

In 57 career games (18 starts), Hurst caught 125 career passes (181 goals for 1,304 yards (average 10.4) and scored 12 goals.

For now, Hurst will be named Cincinnati’s starting tight end next season, though there’s a good chance they’ll pick up another in the NFL with free agency or in the 2022 NFL Draft.

If the Bengals can get the Hurst we saw in Baltimore, he’ll be a solid addition to this offense to help make up for the loss of Uzoma.
