The actress Vera Fischer revealed in an interview with Conversa com Bial this Saturday (21) that he was morally bullied by director Walter Avancini (19352001) during the taping of TV Globo’s soap opera Sinal de Alerta (1978).
“He would say: ‘Heul, you stupid blonde, you German blonde who doesn’t feel anything, who doesn’t know how to cry‘. So I said, ‘Come here and teach me how to do it, which button turns on’”.
According to Vera, the director uses insults and curses to cry with the actors on stage. The cast was amazed. “These people (stayed) have all quit”.
Besides Vera, the cast of Sinal de Alerta included actors Paulo Gracindo (19111995), Vanda Lacerda (19232001) and Yoná Magalhães (19352015).
The actress said she had to push herself “since the first soap opera” because of the situations she faced at work in the 1970s.
Vera also reports having suffered situations of sexual harassment. “I’ve had people chanting to me I’d make excuses that I can’t talk about now because they’re gross, but I got away with it.”
