There Dryocampa Rubiconda belongs to the moth genusbut to the family of the Saturnids, i.e. gods butterflies. This one in particular doesn’t even look like a human being, but maybe like a drawing for a cartoon, maybe a manga.
The reason? the very special colour: yellow and pink! Truly extraordinary as it seems that everything about her, from her antennae to her legs, is painted in a delicate pink in all its shades. Very difficult to spot and in fact none of the family members who sighted it had ever seen a similar species before.
Dryocampa has an essentially downy body and colors can vary from creamy to bright. He prefers to live in maple trees. It is no coincidence that its ideal habitat is North America. Here it is often referred to as “the pink maple moth”.
