He is said to have killed and impaled a grocer with his golf club

A 44-year-old man is suspected of killing a food vendor and impaling him with his golf club.

On Friday, December 8, police officers in Minneapolis, USA responded to a call about a stabbing at a grocery store.

They found a 66-year-old man “behind the counter with a golf club impaled through his torso.”

Paramedics arrived on scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he died.

The suspect reportedly barricaded himself in a nearby building, forcing the mobilization of a SWAT team and bomb squad.

A drone unit also came to the police's aid and managed to incapacitate the suspect after six hours.

KARE-TV reports that the victim has been identified as Robert Skafte. The suspect, Taylor Schulz, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

The victim was found in a pool of blood on the floor of Oakve Grocery. She suffered particular injuries to her head, face and torso, where a golf club was lodged.

Surveillance videos obtained by investigators show Mr. Schulz punching, choking and punching Mr. Skafte. He allegedly struck him in the head several times with the golf club and then impaled him when the golf club head fell off.

In a statement, Oakve Grocery said: “Robert was the epitome of a good neighbor, a true friend and the best teammate. “He was the light of the neighborhood and our world will forever be a little less bright without him.”
