Another senior Russian officer killed by Ukrainian forces is the deputy commander of the imposing Black Sea Fleet Andrey Paliy, 53, of Ukrainian origin (Kyiv) but always on the side of the Russian Navy. There is no confirmation from Moscow, but military friends confirmed his death during fighting near Mariupol. He is the senior officer in the Russian Navy who died in the invasion of Ukraine. He was also one of the most experienced officers in handling missile batteries.
MORE INFORMATION
His name is added to that of six other commanders who, according to Ukrainian sources, were killed by the military in Kyiv and who appear to have intelligence information that allows them to focus on key targets to slow the advance of the invading army.
The list comes from the adviser to the Ukrainian President and chief negotiator, Mykhailo Podolyak, who keeps this list uptodate on Twitter: “The high mortality rate among Russia’s highranking officials is striking. Already killed six generals: Major General Magomed Tushayev, Vitaly Gerasimov, Andriy Kolesnikov, Andrei Sukhovetsky, Oleg Mityaev and lieutenant general Andrei Mordvichev. And dozens of colonels and other officers. In other words, the Russian army is completely unprepared and fights only with numbers and cruise missiles ».
