He went out to sea to “survive the end of the world,” he jumped off the ship, and now he’s not showing up

For the past 2 years, a young American has been intensely wanted by his relatives and local police after he decided to leave his home in the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. His fear of the conspiracy theories about COVID-19 circulating on social networks would have been the cause. “Don’t get vaccinated or you won’t go to heaven,” were the words of Isaac Danian before he disappeared.

In 2020, several countries imposed restrictions due to the health emergency, a situation that made people a little paranoid. isaac, who before leaving asked her parents to sell all their belongings. He left without telling anyone his fate: “I wish I could tell you.”

A month after his departure, in October, the young man contacted his parents and sent a photo showing him with another man and holding a fish. The last thing he told them was that he was going on a 30-day trip where he would not be able to reach them.

The story took an unexpected turn when Isaac was no longer heard from. His parents contacted the police and found that the young man had started following an alleged guru called Matthew Mellowwho posted unsubstantiated theories on his networks about how to “survive the end of the world and the harmful effects of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine,” CNN reported.

What the international media was able to discover was that Mellow was a recruiter of “men in good physical shape” to start a journey Hawaii to the South Pacific. His goal was to go to a place where the pandemic had reportedly not yet arrived. Attracted by this slogan, Isaac contacted him,

It so happened that Isaac was given a couple of boats and captains that would take them to their destination. On his journey he was accompanied by another person by name Shukree Abdul Rashed, from New York. First they went to the Cook Islands, but they could not enter due to sanitary restrictions, so they made their way to the Wallis Islands, French territory, not knowing that everything would change.

Because of their faith, the youths refused to take the required COVID-19 test and rushed overboard. “They wanted to avoid undergoing the PCR test (…) they were afraid,” said Abigael, Isaac’s mother.

The local authorities immediately carried out a search operation; However, they were never found. More than 2 years have passed and still no word from Isaac. Despite the time, his parents keep hope that he will return home.

“If someone told you, ‘Your child probably died,’ would you accept that and move on? It’s not something we can do,” he added.
