“He wouldn’t understand voter fraud if he looked him in the face – and he did”: Trump responds to Bar

Donald Trump pounced on his former attorney general Bill Barcalling him “weak, ineffective and completely scared of impeachment” after Bar criticized him in an interview earlier Friday.

Trump was outraged by Barb’s interview with NBC’s Leicester Holt, in which Barr said his former boss was “responsible” for 6th of January uprising and surrounded himself with a “clown show” of lawyers.

Bar also said he had offered to resign. Trump says he actually forced Bar to resign.

“Former Attorney General Bill Barr would not have known about voter fraud if he had looked him in the face – and he did,” Trump said in a statement Friday night.

“The fact is that he was weak, ineffective and completely scared of impeachment, which the Democrats constantly threatened to do. They “broke” it.

Trump said Bar “needs to act much faster on this.” [special counsel Robert] Mueller’s report “and accused Bar of allowing” the fake fraud Russia, Russia, Russia to be delayed “.

The former president also expressed anger at Bar for not doing more to support his allegations of election fraud.

“He was the election fraud and the irregularities he refused to act on because he wanted to save his own skin – and he did.

“He was never accused of impeachment, accusations of disrespect were never made, and Democrats were very pleased with him, but I was not.”

Trump then went on to attack the January 6 commission, which he called the “Unselect Political Hacks Committee,” accusing them of “trying to make up a story that doesn’t exist.”

Earlier Friday, Bar accused the former president of wanting to “intimidate Congress”.

He also mocked the “clown show” of Trump’s lawyers in a new video from Holt’s interview, which aired Friday night.

“I think he is responsible in the broadest sense of the word,” Bar told Holt 6th of January.

“It seems that part of the plan was to send this group to the Hill.”

“I think the whole idea was to intimidate Congress, and I think that was wrong.”

Bar also revealed that he mocked Trump’s legal team during the same heated meeting at which he proposed his resignation.

“I said the reason you’re where you are is because you’re running a clown show of lawyers,” Barr said.

“Yes, a clown car or something – just a bunch of clowns,” Barr explained.

Holt asked Bar to clarify who he meant – and then mentioned Trump’s lawyer, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

“His team of lawyers,” Bar replied.

And when he mentioned Giuliani, he added, “Among others.”

“I said the reason you’re where you are is because you’re running a clown show of lawyers,” Barr told Trump. Bar confirmed that he was talking about former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (pictured) and others, calling them “Trump’s cracker jack legal team.”

In an earlier video released from the interview, Bar recounted the dramatic moment of the same meeting, when Trump slapped his hand on his desk and ordered him to return home without delay after challenging Trump’s allegations of election fraud.

Bar had resigned shortly before Christmas in 2020, just weeks before the end of Trump’s term – in an event that has since been revealed to be a sign of internal the White House turmoil over Trump’s efforts to push through allegations of fraud, even after they were dropped by a continuity of the courts.

“I told him all this stuff was nonsense about election fraud,” Bar said.

“And, you know, it was wrong to throw him away the way his team was.

“And he started asking me about different theories. And I had the answers. I was able to tell him, “That’s wrong because of that,” Bar said.

“He was obviously very angry about that,” Bar recalls.

I said, “Okay, okay, look, I understand you’re upset with me. And I am completely happy to resign. “

This provoked a furious outburst from Trump.

“And then, boom!” He slapped the desk and said, “Accepted!” Accepted! “

“And then, boom!” He hit him again, Bar said, slapping his own hand to emphasize. “It is accepted! Go home. Do not return to your office. Go home. That’s it, “he told Trump.

The dramatic confrontation between the two men is the one that Trump tried to capture in a tweet announcing his departure from Bar when it was revealed that he would stay until December 23.

“I just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Bar at the White House,” Trump tweeted on December 14.

“Our relationship was very good, he did a great job!”

In a new statement to NBC, Trump said he asked Bar to leave because he had not done his job, calling his former AG “lazy” and “cowardly.”

The entire interview airs on Sunday at 9 p.m.
