A nurse and health worker from the United Kingdom went to prison on Thursday for drugging patients so they could “rest it” during their shift.
In fact, the two employees were found guilty of conspiring to abuse patients by administering sedatives.
The alleged incidents took place at Blackpool Victoria Hospital between February 2017 and November 2018, Sky News has learned.
The judge said their duty was to care for and look after patients, but instead they had “exploited them to have an easy shift and have fun”.
Catherine Hudson, 54, was sentenced to 7 years and 2 months in prison, while her partner Charlotte Wilmot was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
The main perpetrator administered sedatives to all the “troublemakers and patients whom she considered to be a nightmare,” the court reported.
