The film musical will release an album in January 2024.

A preview track for the upcoming Mean Girls soundtrack has been released, featuring Reneé Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion singing a new song in the Mean Girls musical universe: “Not My Fault.” Listen to the track above.

The full 13-track album will be released on January 12, 2024 by Paramount Pictures and Interscope Records, the same day the movie musical itself hits theaters. The title was intended for streamer Paramount+, but was ultimately pushed back to a full theatrical release.

The film, adapted from the 2018 Broadway musical, will feature numerous stage and screen favorites in the cast, including Rapp, who reprises her stage performance as Queen Bee Regina George; Mean Girls original actress Ashley Park in an unspecified cameo role; Broadway alum and Tony nominee Jaquel Spivey (A Strange Loop) as Damien; Auli'i Cravalho (Moana, Little Mermaid Live) as Janis; Angourie Rice (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Cady Heron; Avantika (Senior Year) as crazy Karen; Bebe Wood (Love, Victor) as Toaster Strudel heiress Gretchen; Christopher Briney (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as Regina's boyfriend Aaron Samuels; Girls5Eva star Busy Phillips as Mrs. George; The Office's Jenna Fischer as Mrs. Heron; Mean Girls playwright and screenwriter Tina Fey as Ms. Norbury; SNL alum Tim Meadows as Principal Duval; “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm as Coach Carr; Mahi Alam (American-born Chinese) as Kevin Ganatra; and Connor Ratliff (Search Party) as new teacher character, Mr. Rapp.

The film was reportedly shot in New Jersey earlier this year.

Fey wrote the screenplay for the new film after writing the 2004 original and the book for the stage musical. The score features music by Jeff Richmond and lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde). Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. co-direct the project with choreography by Kyle Hanagami.
