BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – An expert hearing on the “Warming Law” scheduled for Monday could take place. A so-called wording help from the Federal Ministry of Economy was received by the Committee for Climate Protection and Energy on Friday. In these amendments, the ministry explains the innovations agreed upon by the SPD, Verdes and FDP traffic light groups.
“The FDP’s parliamentary group checked the wording of the aid today and approved it as the basis for consultation for the expert hearing on Monday,” said parliamentary group leader Christian Dürr of the German Press Agency in Berlin. The FDP parliamentary group had particularly strong reservations about the original bill by Economy Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) and Construction Minister Klara Geywitz (SPD).
Committee chairman Klaus Ernst (left) wrote on Twitter that the documents arrived around noon. Due to the majority on the committee, he was forced to invite for this hearing on Monday. “The period is too short. A disrespect to Parliament! Insufficient preparation possible.” The opposition harshly criticizes the unusual procedure with short deadlines and multiple renegotiations between traffic light partners.
Greens parliamentary group MPs Julia Verlinden and Andreas Audretsch explained: “The combined amendments to the Building Energy Act have now been sent to committee. We are pleased that the way is clear for new procedures and therefore for fair and renewable heating .” The transition will be socially designed. “We are keeping our promise and are increasing subsidies for neutral heating by up to 70%.”
Dürr, representative of the FDP, emphasized: “No one has to remove your gas heating system and you can repair it at any time.” In addition, the state will make advance payments and submit a municipal heating plan. “Only when it is clear what heating options a municipality has do the specifications apply – and even then will it be possible to install a convertible gas or oil heating system.”
After a long struggle, the law will be approved by the Bundestag next week./hrz/DP/jha
