In Montreal and Quebec, the temperature is expected to reach a maximum of 26 degrees Celsius by midweek, the hottest temperature expected this week, according to data from Environment Canada.
Similar temperatures are expected in Estrie, the Laurentians and Outaouais. This Wednesday the temperature in Gatineau could even rise to 28 degrees.
Temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius are also expected further north, for example in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected in the east of the province, namely in Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and the north coast.
Nights in Montreal will also remain warmer than seasonal norms, ranging between 11 and 17 degrees Celsius.
“We will be several degrees above normal all week into early next week,” specifies Dominic Martel, meteorologist at Environment Canada.
The sun still shines for a large part of the week. On Thursday, however, a low pressure area will “break this series of good weather,” emphasizes Martel.
Rain and a cold front should bring the temperature “closer to seasonal norms,” the meteorologist says.
