Helen George splits from partner Jack Ashton…seven years after meeting on Call The Midwife

Helen George has split from her partner Jack Ashton seven years after they met on Call The Midwife.

The 39-year-old actress and her partner, 36, are said to have become “estranged” and decided to go their separate ways “a few months ago.”

The seven-year-old couple, who have daughters Wren, six, and Lark, two, are now focused on raising their two children together.

Helen confirmed the split, telling The Mirror: “We broke up a few months ago.” “Our two beautiful girls remain the focus and I respectfully request privacy for this next chapter.”

A source added, “Helen and Jack’s decision to end their relationship was amicable and no one else is involved, they just drifted apart as a couple.”

“Both are incredibly committed to working together to be the best parents possible for their two daughters,” they said.

Web has reached out to Helen’s representative for further comment.

Helen met Jack while they were both starring in the hit BBC drama series Call the Midwife.

Helen has played Trixie Franklin on the series since 2012, while Jack joined the series two years later as Tom Hereward.

The couple’s characters began a romance on screen and Tom proposed to Trixie before she ended their relationship.

In real life, the couple reportedly fell in love after traveling to South Africa to film the series’ Christmas 2016 special.

They then welcomed their first child, Wren, a year later, before giving birth to their second daughter, Lark, in November 2021.

In May 2021, Helen shared a rare glimpse into her relationship with Jack, opening up about how the two’s work in the same industry fueled their romance.

She told the Chron: “It’s not like you have time for hobbies at the weekend.” You’re on set for a long time every day and you don’t get to see many other people.

“We are like-minded people who understand the industry, the career and the long hours.”

Prior to her romance with Jack, Helen was married to actor Oliver Boot for three years before their split in 2015.

Helen met her former partner on the set of BBC drama Hotel Babylon and the couple married in December 2012.

The couple confirmed their parting ways in September 2015, telling the Mirror: “I can confirm that Helen split from her husband some time ago.”

The news of her split from Jack comes days after Helen announced on Sunday that she had broken her leg.

She took to Instagram to update her followers by sharing a picture of her right leg in a cast rolling around on a scooter.

The star remained in high spirits, smiling upbeat while beaming for the camera, but didn’t say how she sustained the injury.

As a caption for the post, she simply wrote “Speedy”.

Helen wore a tight black dress and black Adidas Samba trainers with a Saint Laurent bag slung over her shoulder.

Though the actress couldn’t move, she didn’t let her injury stop her from having a great time as she shared a snap from the Soho House Festival.

She appeared in high spirits as she posed for a sweet snap alongside actress Pippa Duffy and author Vikki Stone.

Helen also recently hinted at the return of famous faces for the latest episode of Call The Midwife.

The actress admitted it would be “amazing” to have some old characters back on the show.

One of the favorites to appear in the BBC drama is Miranda Hart.

The star played nurse and midwife Chummy between 2012 and 2015 – but left after she “couldn’t keep the schedule to make it work,” she said at the time.

Speaking to RadioTimes about the possibility of a reunion with previous characters, Helen said: “We’ve talked about it, wouldn’t that be nice?”

“Like the end of Titanic, all the characters come and it’s just beautiful.” “It would have been great to have everyone there.”

Keeping teasing about the reunion plans, she continued, “Look, you’ll have to wait and see.” But at some point — maybe towards the end of the very final series — it sure will be nice to get some of the old faces back, for sure.”

The BBC recently confirmed that the show is set to return for two more seasons and will air at least until 2026.

The show is set in London’s East End in the 1950s and 1960s – and focuses on a group of midwives in a foster home.
