Four people were knifed, two of them seriously, at a Lidl supermarket in Jeumont, northern France, on Monday night by a man who was notably equipped with a helicopter and then tried to end his days, police sources learn.
The vital prognosis of the two seriously injured, unlike that of the author, who attempted suicide, is unproven, a police source said.
Two other people suffered minor injuries, the source said.
The facts happened around 7 p.m. when the man entered the store, specifically using “a helicopter” before attacking customers. About ten people were there.
According to a source close to the case, the attacker was equipped with two knives and a helicopter.
“There is currently no evidence to suggest the motivation of the attacker,” who was “unidentified,” the police source said.
This man, in his 40s, had no papers with him, a second police source said, after which the author attempted suicide by stabbing his throat with his knife.
