Always stingy with information about Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Ninja Theory still used the Game Developers Conference to release a new video to get people talking about their game.
Hellblade 2 aims for photorealism
Ever since the game was announced three years ago, we’ve known that Ninja Theory aims for excellence in terms of graphics and sound in Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. We’ve already seen several photorealistic environments in-game, but this is a technical demo developers are sharing today at GDC 2023.

While the game’s first videos were technically pretty impressive, what’s being released today pushes the hyperrealism of rendering a face in a video game even further.
Once again we find the heroine of Hellblade 2 and at the same time the larger than life face of the actress Melina Jürgens. The lip-sync still gives away the fact that we’re in a video game, but the overall quality of the animations remains largely to be welcomed.
At the moment, Hellblade 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, but many are hoping that it will be announced during the Xbox E3 2023 conference, which will take place on June 11th. In the meantime, we must continue to arm ourselves with patience.
