Like in a penthouse – The color

It’s time for the big return of Barbara, assistant to a former star who we discovered on the electro-pop trio’s 2016 album POP! What can you expect from the concept album Like in a Penthouse? Lust, escape, exhilaration, adrenaline… These sparkling themes cling to Barbara’s skin and run through the songs of this amazing opus that will probably make more than one person dance.

Published September 22nd. Opening shows October 19th at Studio TD in Montreal and October 20th at Pantoum in Quebec.

XO SKELETON – Strength

La Force, aka Ariel Engle, appears with her second solo five years after her work of the same name. The one we particularly knew from Broken Social Scene, here delivers great pop and R&B songs full of melancholy and introspection, focusing on the universal themes of life, death and love.

Published September 29th. Performance on November 22nd at the PHI Center.

Aljosha Schneider – Aljoscha Schneider

After Eleven Songs and Naked, the singer-songwriter presents us with his first album in his native French. Listening to the excerpts “Avant elle”, “Ensemble” and “L’autre” we already sense a gentle and heartbreaking folk-rock offering from the artist who has used his full name for the occasion.

Holistic –Fanny Bloom

Between dance and the soaring rhythms of her new original compositions, Fanny Bloom returns to us with an electropop album that feels like a personal revolution. The creation of the title song “Holistique” would have given his music a “new voice”. Fascinating!

Under my feminine skin – Marie Denise Pelletier

Marie Denise Pelletier is preparing to release Under My Woman’s Skin on October 13th! The artist, who needs no presentation, will offer 12 new original works created with several exceptional collaborators. She even wrote one of the songs on the album produced by Jacques Roy! A return not to be missed.

Published on October 13th. Performance on February 15th and 16th, 2024 in the Cinquième Salle at Place des Arts.

Goodnight, Summerland –Helena Deland

Helena Deland made a big splash in 2020 with the massive album “Someone New” and even caused a stir internationally. With Goodnight Summerland the artist promises us simpler songs. And it’s anything but negative. In the folk excerpts “Spring Bug” and “Bright Green Vibrant Gray” we find her talent as a composer in a refined form that does not take away from her charm.

It cannot be invented – Alex Burger

While country music continues to grow in popularity in Quebec, the lovable Alex Burger is definitely doing well. In 2021, his first album Sweet Montérégie was awarded Country Album of the Year by Félix at the Gala de ADISQ. Now he’s back with Ça s’invente pas directed by Alexandre Martel (Anatole), a folk-country piece recorded live in less than a week at Studio Wild.

Anyway, Mommy Love –Marco Ema

Although he doesn’t deny pop, Marco Ema dives straight into a more rock sound with his second album Anyway, Mommy Love, produced by Simon Pedneault (Gabrielle Shonk, Tire le Coyote). No hesitation on the program: Marco Ema has a definitely adopted approach that leaves room for a more cinematic universe than on his impactful first album “Where our bodies go to die”.

Antigeographic – Jerome 50

Chief chiller Jérôme 50 remains persistent and signs with his second album Antigéographically, produced by his friend Simon Kearney. If the word lover doesn’t stray far from his playing field with the excerpts “Les poetesses de Saint-Jambe” and “Sandwich aux tomatoes”, he might surprise with his exploration of folk, ska, gypsy and disco. And of course Jérôme 50 plans to tackle one of his favorite topics: Québécitude.

Title to be confirmed – Suzie Villeneuve

It took several detours for Suzie Villeneuve to return to her passion: singing. Today more fulfilled than ever, the 40-year-old artist is preparing a two-part album that we will release in the fall and winter, consisting of original pieces written together with director Guy Tourville. The song La Route Ensemble, which speaks of the joys of family, suggests a very bright effort. At the time of writing, the title of the album had not yet been announced.

Something in my blood -Yoan

Yoan, the big winner of La Voix in 2014, continues to ride the new country wave with his third album Something In My Blood. After a profound personal change during the pandemic, Yoan dares more. And be careful: the artist already warns us that something will change in this work in English, which mainly revolves around the theme of love.

domino – The smiling boot

La Bottine Souriante continues to break traditions to offer us the best! With the new album Domino, whose title refers to a traditional dance, the group, founded in 1976, breaks 12 years of silence after the release of the opus Appellation d’origine contrôlée in 2011. Listen to the singles Les belles québécoises and Le Bal Jos Brûlé on, cover by Tex Lecor, we suspect fans won’t be disappointed!
