Compared to coins, banknotes suffer from a problem that is immediately apparent over time and tends to manifest itself, namely progressive degradation, forcing nations into constant replacements, including newer euro banknotes.

Although the euro is a very “young” currency, it “changed its face” a few years ago: after the original series with 8 banknote denominations, the second series was introduced from 2015, starting with the 5 euro denomination. , called Europe which then is the one we use most often today. Most likely, the 500 euro denomination will not be the last and only denomination that will no longer be produced: in fact, from 2024 the process for a new series of euro banknotes will begin, which should lead to a new “aesthetic appearance” in exactly the same way did. for the Europa series from the last decade.
