Here’s a great cause using technology in their fundraising campaign

It’s been a long time since I had cash on me. A habit increasingly shared by millions of consumers who only use electronic payments. The flip side of the coin is that small monetary donations are becoming increasingly rare.

As part of its 20th anniversary, the Dr Clown Foundation is launching a fun and innovative “bandaged noses” fundraiser that allows donations to be made through Google Pay and Apple Pay. A first!

Thanks to NFC (Near Field Communication*) technology, when the phone approaches the connected nose, a microsite opens and you can donate $2 immediately. A new way of updating and democratizing the gesture of giving. This chip has been installed in millions of smartphones for several years using this NFC technology.

From October 21, more than 5,000 Dr. Clown noses will be available free of charge in around fifty distribution points in the metropolitan area. An ideal last minute Halloween costume for busy parents.
