Hezbollah attacks northern Israel after ceasefire ends Alaa AlMarjani/Portal November 18, 2023
The terrorist group Hezbollah, which operates in Lebanon, reported five attacks against the north of Israel this Friday morning (1st), the first since the end of the ceasefire agreement between the Israeli government and Hamas terrorists.
The IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) confirmed that they had detected a series of bombings from Lebanese territory in three areas in Israeli territory.
The army responded by firing artillery at the origins of projectiles fired by Hezbollah.
An hour before the first attack, Israeli forces announced that they had intercepted “a suspected air target” from Lebanon, but it was not confirmed who it belonged to or what type it was.
From October 8 until the start of the ceasefire on November 24, Hezbollah and Israel were engaged in intense crossfire on the border with Lebanon, where there were also some operations by Palestinian factions and other Islamic militias.
In the last seven days, during which the war was dormant, there were only isolated incidents in the region.
The ceasefire in the war was brokered by the United States and Qatar to allow the release of hostages and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
During this period, 107 of the 240 people kidnapped in the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 were exchanged for around 300 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons.
