In the first case, Hackney Diamonds, released on October 20, is the band's first album with Mick Jagger since 2005. It is more broadly the group's first work since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.
Two of the songs were recorded with Charlie Watts in 2019. Steve Jordan, recommended by Watts as a replacement, sits behind drums on the other tracks.

In the case of the Beatles, the song Now and Then was put together using artificial intelligence. John Lennon's demo, recorded in the late 1970s, was completed by the other members of the group after his death.
The song quickly reached the top of the British charts in early November. As of mid-December, the music video had been viewed 37 million times on YouTube.
