Disgraced politician Anthony Weiner's ex-wife Huma Abedin has apparently revealed that she is dating billionaire George Soros' son Alex – who is almost ten years younger than her.
The longtime Hillary Clinton adviser appeared to make her romance public on Wednesday when she posted a photo of herself and Alex on a Valentine's Day date at a restaurant in Paris.
In the picture, posted to Instagram Stories by both Huma, 47, and Alex, 38, the couple can be seen snuggling in a corner booth behind a table full of red roses and gifts while the billionaire playboy adding a “Happy Valentine’s Day” message above their heads.
The romance between the two begins seven years after Huma divorced her former husband Weiner, to whom she was married for seven years – during which time the couple experienced several high-profile scandals.
Disgraced politician Anthony Weiner's ex-wife Huma Abedin has apparently revealed that she is dating billionaire George Soros' son Alex – who is almost ten years younger than her.
Huma is a long-time adviser and confidant of former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton – who has several ties to the Soros family
But her new boyfriend is also no stranger to the public and often makes controversial headlines.
For much of his life, Alex was known as a playboy heir, throwing lavish parties in the Hamptons and attending many red carpet events – until last year, in a surprise decision, when he was named the official heir to his father's $25 billion empire was seen usurping his older brother Jonathan in a corporate battle that many compared to the HBO series Succession.
When the announcement was made in June 2023, Alex vowed that he would use his father's fortune to fund other far-left causes – including abortion rights and gender equality – and told the Wall Street Journal that he was “more political” as George and intends to do so, this is reflected in his business relationships.
Speaking about his goals, Alex said he was concerned about the possibility of Republican Donald Trump returning to the White House – and suggested his family would be a big contributor to Democrats in the 2024 presidential election.
“As much as I would like to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we have to do it too,” he said.
Those words will no doubt be music to Huma's ears, considering she served at former presidential candidate Clinton's right-hand man for years and was at her side when she lost the 2016 election to Trump.
Clinton's election defeat was the latest in a series of personal setbacks for Huma, whose then-husband Anthony had been exposed by just weeks earlier for carrying on a months-long online relationship with a 15-year-old girl who sent several dirty sexts.
However, it may be that Huma was first linked to the Soros family during Hillary's failed 2016 campaign – when it emerged that George was one of five major donors responsible for every $17 spent on her campaign became.
Huma's most high-profile previous relationship was with disgraced politician Anthony Weiner (seen together in 2016), whom she was married to for seven years, from 2010 to 2017
After years of building a reputation as a playboy, Alex changed his image in 2023 when he was named heir to his father George's $25 billion hedge fund empire
In fact, Huma's name was previously linked to the Soros clan when it was revealed in 2016 that she had exchanged emails with another member of Hillary's campaign team about a dinner the then-presidential candidate had with George.
In the email, Huma asked Robby Mook, who would later run Hillary's campaign, what she should do if George asked Hillary to appear at a fundraiser for America Votes, a progressive organization he strongly supported.
Robby then replied: “I would only do that for political reasons (e.g. to make Soros happy).”
In the years since Hillary's failed campaign, Huma has continued to work closely with her – while also forming several other high-profile friendships, including with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
In 2022, there were even rumors that Anna was trying to set Huma up with her close friend, actor Bradley Cooper – the duo had reportedly been together for several months after being set up by the editor-turned-matchmaker was.
However, the romance with Alex marks the first time that Huma herself has shared a new update about her love life with the public – after keeping much of her life secret in the years since her divorce from Weiner.
However, the former Clinton aide hasn't been quite as reticent about sharing her plans for the future, revealing in October 2022 that she “wouldn't rule out” a possible move into politics.
“I'm at the stage of my life where I say, 'Never say never,'” Huma said during an appearance on Cats Roundtable. “But I don’t see it.
“I was married for a long time to what I consider to be one of the most dynamic and successful politicians. And I worked for another politician – they were next-level officials in terms of the work they did,” she said of her ex-husband Weiner and her former boss Hillary.
