Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has warned Joe Biden that voters are right to be concerned about his age as doubts remain about his suitability for office.

The former Foreign Secretary told a conference organized by the British newspaper that the 80-year-old’s age was “an issue” in the 2024 election.

She had been asked at a Financial Times summit in Washington, DC if Biden stumbled at the G7 summit in Japan.

“His age is an issue and people have every right to think about it,” Clinton said. “It’s a problem for everyone.”

The 75-year-old added, “We’ve had ousted presidents before that were much younger and people didn’t get heart palpitations.”

Clinton, who lost to Donald Trump in 2016, claimed that Joe Biden “doesn’t get the credit yet” for “jobs and growth.”

“I certainly hope that he remains focused and able to participate in the election because I think he can be re-elected and that’s what we should all hope for,” she told the audience.

Her comments stand in stark contrast to those of other Democrats, who have dismissed concerns about the commander in chief’s age.

Biden is the oldest president in American history and would complete a second term at age 86.

White House advisers have repeatedly downplayed concerns about Biden’s mental and physical fitness.

But late last month, the President was given reply cards to help him deal with vetted questions from journalists at a stagecraft-heavy press conference.

Biden shrugged off a question about his advanced years at the event alongside South Korean President Yoon Sun Yeol.

“As for age, I can’t even say — I guess how old I am, I can’t even say the number, it doesn’t register me,” he said. He added that he expects voters to look into this carefully, and so would I. I looked at it before I decided to run.’

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has called for mental fitness tests for everyone over the age of 75 in what is seen as a thinly veiled dig at Biden and Donald Trump.

But Trump himself offered his support, saying it takes “great mental acuity and physical stamina” to hold the office of president.

Republicans have long criticized Biden for his many verbal blunders and are calling for a cognitive examination.

Biden received a clean bill of health in February after his annual physical exam, but his doctor didn’t say if he had evaluated the president’s mental capacity.

Next year he will be on public display as the election campaign progresses ahead of next year’s vote.

During the 2020 election, he campaigned primarily online and rarely left Delaware at the height of the Covid pandemic.

Trump was 70 when he entered the Oval Office in 2017 after defeating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

Should he win a second term, he would be 78 years old and the second longest-serving president in history, after Biden.

The American people will regularly see him on the road, interacting with voters and showing he is fit for the job.
