His flatulence earned him $225,000 in compensation

An English lawyer who was gassed at work because of his medication has been awarded more than $225,000 in compensation for being unfairly treated by his employer.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) worker in England’s Thames Valley region was taking heart medication after suffering a heart attack, The Telegrah reported on Thursday.

Because of the size of the office and the repeated flatulence, his colleagues intervened by asking him to stop: an embarrassing request that violates his dignity, the Crown Prosecutor said, according to British media.

Although the court ruled that it was a reasonable request from his colleagues and that the lawyer had not been discriminated against, it still considered that the employer should have accommodated him by allowing him to work from home, to leave early and release him from certain court duties.

The CPS must therefore pay compensation of £135,862 or more than $225,000.
