His ski trip turns into a nightmare –

A week after returning from a memorable ski trip in Switzerland, a Montreal couple still hasn’t seen their $10,000 gear that Air Canada misplaced on their way home.

Laurent Tremblay and his wife spent a few days in the Swiss mountains after the holidays, whizzing down the snowy slopes before getting back to their everyday lives.

If the trip and stay went smoothly, it was different when he returned to the country. After catching a direct flight between Geneva and Montreal, he had to wait at the airport for several hours before reconciling himself to the journey home.

“We were at least fifteen skiers hanging around without any information. We were eventually told that our luggage had been taken from the plane but that they didn’t know where it was,” the 26-year-old told the Journal.

Wait more than a month

Three days later, Mr Tremblay claims to have contacted Air Canada customer service for an explanation. He was told that there could be delays in obtaining baggage information for up to 48 hours after the flight.

“I’ve been waiting for over a week now with no news. We’re talking $10,000 worth of high-end equipment here,” he complains.

Laurent Tremblay then filled out the “Let us know” form on Air Canada’s website, hoping to find his skis as soon as possible.

But the organization emailed him that due to the high volume of requests, he could wait 45 days for a representative to respond to his request.

No compensation

“It’s certain I won’t have them until the end of the season… and even then! » he complains when he has already reserved slip days in the Massif de Charlevoix in the coming weeks.

He also points out that the airline has not offered him any compensation so far, as they are “looking for” the luggage and do not consider it lost.

“It’s so insulting! It’s like they’re washing their hands,” denounced the man, who plans to call the organization back every day until he gets answers.
