A man in his 40s was seriously injured on Friday after being hit by a car moving on in Montreal’s Centre-South.
The hit-and-run happened around 6 p.m. on the corner of Boulevard De Maisonneuve and Rue Berri. The pedestrian then attempted to cross the street without giving way, said Raphaël Bergeron, spokesman for the City of Montreal Police Department. The vehicle crossing on green would then not have stopped.
Seriously injured in the upper body, the victim was transported to a hospital.
“The color of the vehicle [fautif] has yet to be determined,” Agent Bergeron said.
Berri Street between Sainte-Catherine and Ontario streets is closed to allow police to conduct their investigation.
