Hockey player assaulted by coach: Quebec’s assistant coach banned for 10 years

The minor ice hockey coach, who left the bench at an arena in Côte-de-Beaupré near Quebec last December to go onto the ice to tackle a young player, has been suspended for a 10-year period.

This is the decision of the Disciplinary Committee against the assistant coach of the Quebec-Centre Boucs for his gesture during a game on December 18th.

After a questionable hit by an Eagles player against an opponent during a stoppage, the Boucs coach rushed onto the ice to attack the opposing team’s young hockey player.

The ugly scene was filmed by a surveillance camera.

The game between the Boucs de Québec and the Aigles de Côte-de-Beaupré involved 13- and 14-year-olds at bantam level.
