Holly Willoughby is enjoying a brief break from hosting This Morning

ITV star Holly Willoughby showed off her chic Halloween-inspired manicure on Thursday while enjoying a brief break from her hosting duties for This Morning.

The 41-year-old TV presenter looked every inch a blonde bombshell as she put on her makeup and showed off her fresh nails.

It comes after Holly snuck out of the National Television Awards earlier last week after facing backlash over “queue gate”.

It comes after Holly snuck out of the National Television Awards before the ceremony ended on Thursday and Phillip Schofield had to face the music when awkwardly asked about her ‘queue gate’ controversy.

TV presenters were booed at the event as This Morning won the Best Daytime award after allegedly skipping the line to see the Queen lying in state last month.

Holly left the awards ceremony, held at London’s Ovo Arena Wembley, just before 10pm, more than half an hour before the end of the ceremony.

While Holly avoided any further embarrassment by leaving the show early, co-host Phillip, 60, was nervous when a guest later examined him at the queuegate – leaving him awkward with an effusive ode to his fans.

But when he thanked him, many viewers took to social media to show their disbelief that the show had scooped the gong and urged Phillip to “return” the prize.

In footage on Twitter, the presenter was asked: “Phil, do you think that justifies you for the queuegate? Do you think now that the public has said: “Actually, we don’t care about Queuegate”?

The furore began on Friday September 16 when the presenters' approach was contrasted with that of football legend David Beckham (pictured) on the same day. The former England captain waited in line for nearly 14 hours to pay his respects to the Queen - despite being offered a pass by an MP to skip the line

Grinning, Phillip simply replied, “We are so thankful for our amazing viewers! We love her.’

A source told Web: “This is an award that viewers voted for, which makes it very special. The entire team rejoiced in the 12th consecutive gong at the NTAs and the cheers they received after the win! It was a great night for everyone.”

Shortly after the incident, Holly left the ceremony, and a source told The Sun: “Holly accepted her award for Best Time of Day and left 30 minutes later. She usually stays over for drinks with Phil and the team, but she has an Irish exit. She was seen leaving the ceremony just after 10pm and getting into a car outside.

The insider added that Holly and Phil were “very embarrassed” to go on stage after the crowd booed.

As Holly’s co-host Phillip came on stage to accept the award, he said: “Please don’t think we ever get complacent and please don’t think we ever take it for granted. It means so much to us every year, especially this year. We have the best boss.”

Holly added: “This morning has a very special relationship with you, you do our show for us, you really do. All these guys here on stage, Alison [Hammond] and dermo [O’Leary]Rochelle [Humes] and Vernon [Kay]josie [Gibson], Everyone. Thank you for all your support.’

The presenters found themselves at the center of the “queuing controversy” in September when they were accused of skipping the line to see the Queen in state, which they both denied.

Phillip and Holly faced significant backlash when a petition calling for the presenters to be removed from television garnered a total of 73,000 signatures.

The uproar began on September 16 when the moderators’ modus operandi was contrasted with that of football legend David Beckham on the same day.

The former England captain waited in line for almost 14 hours to pay his respects to the Queen – despite being offered a pass by an MP to skip the line.

Good Morning presenter Susanna Reid was also praised for waiting seven hours with her mum to get past the coffin.
