Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo, 34, shares a heartbreaking update on his life with terminal cancer

Johnny Ruffo continues his brave fight against terminal cancer.

The former Home and Away star, 34, shared a series of photos to his Instagram account on Monday that included several memories he’d captured over the past few weeks.

In one photo, the star was enjoying a delicious meal with girlfriend Tahnee Sims and her mother, while in another he was sitting in a hospital chair having another round of chemotherapy.

Johnny, Tahnee and their mother also appeared to have attended Rod Stewart’s concert together.

“A few snapshots from life lately,” he captioned the post.

Several friends and fans commented on his post, praising his strength and bravery.

“Keep fighting and stay strong,” wrote one user.

In March, Johnny began another round of chemotherapy and posted a photo of himself undergoing treatment at the hospital with girlfriend Tahnee Sims by his side.

The actor put on a very brave face, smiling and showing thumbs up while sitting on a chair.

“Back in my favorite chair,” he wrote sarcastically alongside the hashtags #ihatethischair and #f**kcancer.

In December, the actor and singer marked another year of chemotherapy and revealed he was looking forward to taking a break over Christmas and spending time with family.

“Another year of chemotherapy behind me. It wasn’t easy, but I got through it,” he wrote at the time.

“I can’t wait to take a few weeks off over Christmas and spend some well-deserved time with my family. #f**kcancer.’

In August 2022, Johnny confirmed his brain tumor diagnosis was terminal and said he worried how his girlfriend Tahnee would handle it when he was gone.

“You can only imagine how difficult it was for her,” he said in The Project.

“What’s on my mind a lot is, I hate to say this, how hard it can be for her when something happens to me.

“Well, it’s something I don’t want to think about. It just makes me a little bit emotional knowing that something is going to happen eventually, whether it’s in a month or 10 years or 20 years.

Johnny told then-host Carrie Bickmore he was already past his life expectancy.

“It’ll get to me eventually, but I’m still fighting. Still performing. If I look up my diagnosis and tumor, the average life expectancy is three years,” he said.

The former X Factor star went on to praise his partner Tahnee, calling her his “guardian angel”.

“She accompanies me every step of the way,” he said. “I’m so grateful to have her by my side, I don’t know what I would do without her.”
