Home and Away star Sophie Dillman has cast her voice behind the push for “menstrual leave” in the workplace.

“We didn’t ask about periods, let alone period pain,” the actress told the publication.

Sophie added that women are taught to just “grin and take it,” but things would be different if men had periods.

‘[I] Bet money that if men were on their periods they wouldn’t have to work those days and they’d get vacation time every month on those days,” she told the publication.

Sophie also revealed that she suffers from endometriosis and said her colleagues at Summer Bay have always been supportive of her condition.

“Everyone will hold my hot water bottle between takes, wardrobe support that my costume needs to change because I’m bloated, people dump me when I have to,” she said.

Sophie is nominated for the Silver Logie in the Most Popular Actress category at this year’s Logies and says it’s an honor.

“You’re one of the biggest names in Australian television,” Sophie said of the other actresses nominated in this category.

“I never thought I would ever meet these women in my life let alone have my name next to them, so the nomination is really the big thing,” she said.
