A homeowner opened fire on three masked and armed burglars as they attempted to break into his home.

The three thieves returned fire at the American who was defending the property of his residence.
According to neighbors, around twenty shots were fired, Inside Edition reports.
Surveillance camera footage shows how the thieves were surprised by shots fired by the homeowner.
