According to Hendersonville Police, officers responded to a call at 1909 4 Seasons Boulevard in Hendersonville around 10:54 a.m. Monday morning. Officials say investigators are investigating “a murder that occurred at the restaurant.”
Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand told News 13 on Monday that a woman got into an argument with another woman at a nearby bus stop. One of the women walked into the 4 Seasons McDonald’s fast food restaurant and tried to escape when the other woman followed her inside. The restaurant manager and employees attempted to separate the two women and were able to get one of the women to leave the restaurant.
However, Chief Myhand said that woman returned within seconds and was met at the side door by the manager and another employee. Myhand said a McDonald’s employee pulled out a gun and shot the woman once in the chest, killing her instantly.
The police chief said the employee fled the scene and was taken into custody with the help of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. The weapon was also recovered.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, has been charged with murder.
Authorities are working to notify the victim’s next of kin before revealing her identity. Chief Myhand said police have been dealing with the victim for a few days now and described her as exhibiting “erratic behavior,” which is why they received several calls throughout the weekend. He said officers do not believe the victim is from the area and that officers do not believe the victim and the shooter knew each other.
In an earlier police press release, the victim was described as a woman who was “causing a disturbance at the restaurant.”
On Monday morning, numerous police vehicles and emergency services could be seen in front of the McDonald’s fast food restaurant on 4 Seasons Boulevard.
