Honduras withdraws Israeli ambassador news

Against the backdrop of the war between Israel and Hamas, another Latin American country, Honduras, recalled its ambassador to Israel. Faced with the “serious humanitarian situation” of the Palestinian civilian population in the Gaza Strip, the Honduran government summoned Ambassador Roberto Martinez of Israel for “consultations”, Foreign Minister Enrique Reina (X) said yesterday on Twitter.

In recent days, Chile and Colombia withdrew their ambassadors to protest Israel’s military response to the attack by the Palestinian radical Islamic organization Hamas. Bolivia even cut diplomatic relations with Israel on Tuesday.

According to Israeli sources, Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip, killed at least 1,400 people and kidnapped at least 240 people in the Gaza Strip in an unprecedented major attack against Israel on October 7. In response to the Hamas attack, Israel placed the Gaza Strip under constant fire. According to Hamas figures that cannot be independently verified, more than 9,200 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli bombings since October 7.
