Honor has introduced the Honor Magic Vs2, a book-sized foldable smartphone that is the lightest in its category.

The Honor Magic V2 blew us away when we saw it at IFA 2023, with its ultra-thin design, its featherweight for a foldable smartphone, and its Parallel Space mode that allows you to run two instances of the same application on the same device start.
While we are still waiting for the Honor Magic V2 to be marketed in France, the Chinese giant is not waiting and therefore announces the Honor Magic Vs2 for China. This is more or less a half-year version of the first model. As a reminder, its predecessor, the Honor Magic Vs, is, at the time of writing, the only book-sized foldable smartphone to hit the market alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Even thinner and lighter
On paper, the smartphone looks mostly like a light version. Thanks to its magnesium alloy body and titanium hinge, the weight can even be reduced from 231g to 229g.

But particularly light on the performance side, as the V2’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is swapped for a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is less powerful due to the previous generation. The fact is that it is an excellent chip that should allow the bill to be reduced a little without sacrificing too much capacity.
The photo part also loses a few pixels as it goes by. If we keep a triple photo module with 20 Mpx telephoto lens and 50 Mpx wide angle, the ultra wide angle goes to a 12 Mpx sensor compared to 50 Mpx.
Otherwise, the technical data sheet seems to be quite similar: 6.43 inch Oled screens on the front (2376 x 1060 pixels) and 7.92 inches on the internal screen (2344 x 2156 pixels). The battery still has 5000 mAh and a charging capacity of 66 W.
The adventure with the folding smartphone seems to be going well for Honor. According to figures shared by the brand but collected by Counterpoint Research, the Honor Magic V2 was the best-seller in the book-sized foldable smartphone segment in China in the third quarter.
