Honors foldable smartphone is coming next month and we know

Honor’s foldable smartphone is coming next month (and we know its price) – L’Éclaireur Fnac

The Chinese brand Honor has just officially announced the release date of its brand new folding smartphone in France. At the end of May we will be able to see the lines of the device in stores.

If we already knew a lot about the Honor Magic Vs, one important piece of information was missing. The young brand had expressed the desire to release the foldable smartphone on European territory, and therefore in France. The device will appear on May 24th.

Almost €1,600

We have known this Honor Magic Vs for a long time. In fact, our first contact with the smartphone dates back to November 2022. Since then, the Fold has obviously appeared in China and has been able to present itself from all sides. In particular, at the Mobile World Congress, held in Barcelona earlier this year, Honor presented its device intended for the European market in more detail. So here it is officially scheduled for May 24th, just over a month after the launch of its flagship Magic 5 Pro in France, which we also got to try.

In the foldable smartphone segment, the Honor Magic Vs will cost €1,599. It’s a new competitor to Samsung in the cheaper western market. The Korean company has so far had the upper hand. But the proliferation of folding models in the coming months and years should shake up the juggernaut somewhat.

A large, heavy and thin folding knife

Overall, this Honor Magic Vs presents itself as a larger and heavier foldable device than its main competitor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 from Samsung. When unfolded, the device measures 160.3 x 141.5 x 6.1 mm. When folded, it measures 160.3 x 72.6 x 12.9mm, almost 3mm smaller than Samsung’s latest folding phone. On the scale, however, the Magic Vs loses the battle with its 267 g against the 263 g of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The smartphone has a teardrop hinge that protects it from water and dust more effectively.
