Hootie & the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker was arrested on drug charges in Tennessee on Thursday.
According to his attorney, Darius Rucker, the 57-year-old musician is “fully cooperating with authorities regarding the misdemeanor charges,” reports TMZ, which first broke the news of his arrest.
Rucker, whose hits include “Hold My Hand,” “Only Wanna Be with You” and “Let Her Cry,” was taken into custody in his hometown of Williamson County in connection with three misdemeanor charges, two of them drug-related, reported the point of sale.
Rucker was charged in connection with three separate charges, TMZ reported, including two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance; and a violation of the registration of his vehicle.
Rucker was transported to a prison facility at 10 a.m. PT on Thursday and was released and released around 11 a.m., the outlet reported.
