According to ESPN Tuesday, “Jimmy G” will not have surgery for the foot injury he sustained at Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

First, the club’s head coach, Kyle Shanahan, spoke of broken bones and an immediate end to the season for whoever replaced Trey Lance as lynchpin number 1 at the start of the season.

However, the extent of the damage would be less, allowing the former New England Patriots to expect a return to competition in seven or eight weeks.

At the moment, Brock Purdy is at the helm of the California formation’s offense. He had 210 yards and two touchdowns in the 33-17 win over the Dolphins.

San Francisco is 8-4 and leads the National Conference West Division. The team meets the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
