Horrifying moment: A mass brawl breaks out at a North Carolina high school before one student is stabbed and another is stabbed – while police officers arrest a suspect

Shocking new footage shows the moment a mass brawl broke out at a North Carolina high school, leaving one student dead and another hospitalized.

The pair run into the school gymnasium, followed by dozens of cheering and cheering students filming on their cell phones.

A fight breaks out in which a student lying on the ground produces a knife and repeatedly stabs another student in the leg and groin. When the students turned and ran away, no one was on the ground. But one of the students was declared dead and the second was taken to hospital.

Early Monday afternoon, two ambulances were seen leaving Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School, each followed by a police vehicle.

Police say they have arrested a suspect but have not said what led to the brawl and fatal incident.

None of the names of the students involved have been released.

According to Raleigh police, a fight broke out between several students.  The incident was described as a “serious attack”.

The first call came in around 11 a.m. when a school staff member called emergency services and backup and said a student had been stabbed.

Shortly afterwards, another student was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing.

“He’s just passing out.” “We’re in the main gym,” a woman’s voice could be heard saying over the police radio traffic.

A man’s voice said, “Can you arrange for the principal to close the school?”

According to Raleigh police, a fight broke out between several students. The incident was described as a “serious assault” in a social media post.

However, the department added: “The scene is secure and this appears to be an isolated incident. “Please avoid the area around the school.”

In a follow-up message, parents were informed that the school would remain under Code Red lockdown due to the ongoing investigation, but a “controlled” dismissal would take place at the usual time.

The closure was in effect until 2:20 p.m. local time.

Carpool students were taken by bus to Walnut Creek Amphitheater where they were reunited with their families.

Superintendent Robert Taylor expressed his condolences during a news conference.

He said Wake County does not have metal detectors at school entrances, but school staff are able to search students if they have a “reasonable suspicion that a student has a weapon.”

Taylor said the student suspected of stabbing the other had not raised any concerns, but said their policies were now being reviewed.

“As a parent, I can’t imagine getting that call,” he said.

“Above all, I promise my determination; Schools should be a safe haven for students and staff.

“Following today’s tragedy, we will be reviewing all of our safety processes and protocols.”

Classes have been canceled for Tuesday.

“Our condolences go out to the victim’s family,” the school said in a statement.

“Please think of her and everyone affected by this loss.”

“Please know that the deceased student was a valued member of our school community, and we join his loved ones in mourning this loss.”
