A Texas man has been arrested for kidnapping a woman and holding her hostage after grabbing her on the street while she was pregnant nearly five years ago.
Lee Carter, 52, was charged with aggravated kidnapping after police discovered the victim was locked in a garage next to his Houston home.
On April 7, 2023, court documents revealed, Houston Police Department officers were dispatched to 5251 Perry Street in Houston in reference to a kidnapping in progress when they heard a voice coming from the garage.
Video from Fox 26 shows officers breaking the garage window and finding a dog and a mattress inside. Police believe the victim was held captive.
When authorities found the victim, who was in her 30s, in April, she was malnourished and weighed just over 30 pounds. She also stated that she had not showered in two months.

The victim said Carter abducted her from the street about five years ago when she was pregnant and begging
The victim said Carter locked her in his garage and repeatedly forced her to have sex with him and do drugs
The victim said she met Carter – a rapper who goes by the stage name Viper – four or five years ago when she was pregnant and Almeda Geona was begging.
Carter stopped to give her a dollar, then came back shortly after and told her if she got in his car he would help her.
Then the victim said Carter locked her in his garage for the next four to five years and repeatedly forced her to have sex with him and do drugs.
'Defendant [Carter] “I would force her to take pills in addition to crack cocaine and other illegal narcotics, which resulted in her being physically unable to leave the location,” court documents state.
The victim was able to use Carter's laptop and contact police through the Text Now application.

Carter was finally arrested in April when police responded to a welfare check at his home and rescued a dog
She said she previously tried to escape by breaking one of the windows and crawling out. She was taken to the hospital, but Carter picked her up there and took her back to the garage, where he boarded up the windows.
It is unknown what happened to the victim's pregnancy while she was held captive.
Fox News reported that a warrant was filed for Carter's arrest in April, but his arrest did not occur until Friday.
When they found the dog in the house, police were called to do an animal control check on the apartment.
Carter was then arrested at a motel and is being held in the Harris County Jail on $100,000 bail.
