One of SBT’s star employees, Celso Portiolli will be absent from the telethon for the first time in more than twenty years. In his social networks, the presenter of “Domingo Legal” announced that he was hospitalized for treatment for bladder cancer.

“For the first time I will not be on the Telethon stage. It hurts me too much,” the moderator began in the video published on Friday evening (4). “A lot of people know I’m in treatment. My health is excellent, perfect. It’s great, but I have to do my treatment, an immunotherapy.”

“I’m in the third phase, the third week, BCG is introduced into the bladder to improve immunity,” he continued, explaining the procedure for treating the disease. “My bladder overreacted to the treatment, [mas] I had to go to the hospital because it was very infected.”

Finally, he again regretted the absence and encouraged his followers to donate to the cause: “Unfortunately, I cannot attend the telethon, but I ask for your cooperation and help to reach the goal of 30 million. I will be jubilant and vibrant for the 25th Telethon. God bless you all,” he concluded. Watch the video:

Celso Portiolli began medical treatment for bladder cancer in October, which will not end until 2023. The host of SBT’s Domingo Legal program updated fans on his health status after surgery.

“I’m going to treatment until next year. I have a treatment every three months and that’s until next year, but it’s super easy,” he explained in an interview with RedeTV!’s TV Fama. “It’s just preventive, I don’t have anything else. I’m super healthy, I don’t have any problems. It’s a preventive treatment to boost my body’s immunity, that’s all,” guaranteed Portiolli.

In December 2021, Portiolli took to social media to share that he had been diagnosed with bladder cancer and would undergo an intravesical treatment called BCG in the bladder. “I am optimistic and full of confidence because the chances of recovery are almost 100%. That made me very relieved, optimistic, happy, with a lot of confidence that everything will be fine,” he explained.
